Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Highcliffe Primary School is firmly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We ensure that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. Safer recruitment procedures are followed for the appointment of all staff and volunteers.

The school follows the principles and procedures laid down by government guidelines and Redcar and Cleveland Local Safeguarding Board.

We have a duty to take reasonable action to ensure the welfare and safety of its pupils and, in cases where staff have cause to be concerned that a pupil may be subject to ill-treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, incuding E-Safety, staff will follow our Child Protection Procedures. All staff and volunteers receive safeguarding training as part of their induction to school, and regular training through the Local Safeguarding Board or with our Safeguarding Consultant, Pete Davies.

All concerns are passed through the members of staff who are trained as "Designated Child Protection Officers" in school in compliance with the "sharing of information" guidance.

The Child Protection Designated Teacher/Safeguarding Officer (DSL) is Miss N King, Head Teacher.

The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) are Mrs Aimee Salter, Upper Key Stage Two Leader and Miss Katherine Hill, EYFS Leader.

The Child Protection Office for Education is June Craven - 01642 130700

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP) Officers are Mrs A Salter, Lower Key Stage Two Leader, and Mr R Nash, Upper Key Stage Two Leader.
