It is a primary aim of our school that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. The school's behaviour policy is therefore designed to support the way in which all members of the school can live and work together in a positive, responsible and supportive way. It aims to promote an environment in which everyone feels happy, safe and secure. The school has a number of rules, but our behaviour policy is not primarily concerned with rule enforcement. It is a means of promoting good relationships, so that people can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn. The policy aims to help children grow in a safe and secure environment, and to become positive, responsible and increasingly independent members of the school community. The school rewards good behaviour, as it believes that this will develop an ethos of kindness and cooperation. However, there are times when sanctions need to be used if children choose to behave inappropriately, and we would ask parents and carers to work in partnership with school on such occasions, upholding the home-school agreement.

House Teams

Children are placed into one of four Houses – Red, Yellow, Green or Blue. Staff throughout school reward children for positive attitudes, quality work, effort and politeness and manners by presenting colour tokens to children who display these qualities. These are collected in boxes in each classroom and counted once a week before a Celebration House assembly.  The tokens across all classes are then totalled and overall House Cup weekly winners are presented with the house cup which is displayed prominently in school. Children from the winning team then receive 15 minutes of choosing time supervised by Teaching Assistants later in the week. Termly House Cup winners are also rewarded at the end of each term and the overall winning team each year has their name added to the trophy. House Captains from Year 6 are elected by the children in each house.
